Get Ready for 2017

For most of us 2016 hasn’t been the year we hoped it would be. But fortunately the next one is just right around the corner. So get ready for 2017. Make sure you own this year and don’t let it own you.

Let 2017 be the year you learn to live brave and curious. Let 2017 be a year of growth and change. Let 2017 be a year of unforgettable, and cherished moments. This year should all be about good vibes, creating beautiful memories, coming your dreams much closer or even realizing them, getting happier and being more focused on yourself, what is good for you, and your work.

Stop being bitter about your past. Don’t let it be a year full of pain but instead a year full of joy. Forgive and forget what has happened in the past but know that everything that happened made you the person you are right now.

I want you to build stronger and deeper relationships with the people you care about and to get rid of negative people. I want you to discover who you really are and to pursue what makes you happy and to get rid of negative habits and meaningless work. I want you to smile more, to show more gratitude, and to appreciate even the little things in life and to get rid of anger, complaint, and hate.

In 2017, I hope you get rich. Not only financially rich but rich in knowledge. Rich in adventure. Rich in health. Rich in love. Rich in family. Rich in people you care about and people who care about you.

You are in complete control over how this year will turn out for you. 2017 can only be what you let it be. Let 2017 be beautiful. Let 2017 be yours. Let 2017 come, because you are most definitely ready for it!

Motivation for 2017

The year 2016 is coming to an end. While you still have a few pages to fill with beautiful moments, you should get ready to tackle the next book that is 2017. 365 Pages are waiting for you to be filled with moments of joy, happiness, tears, love, and fun. Many adventures are waiting for you. There are roads that are waiting for you to walk on. There will be new places to discover and to explore. You will meet new people. You will change yourself over the course of 2017 to an even better human being. But don’t go unprepared into this new journey.

Ask yourself what you want to have accomplished by the end of the year. If that is a step too big for you, start by making small steps. Ask yourself what you want to have accomplished in the next three months and split your year into quarters if this suits you better. Even small steps will become one big step when they are added up. Write your goals down. Put them somewhere you see them multiple times a day. Put some on your desk if you spend a lot of time there. Put them on your fridge and you will see them every time you open it. Put them on your bathroom mirror to see them when you get ready in the morning. Let them be present in your daily routine. The power of seeing your goals written down is way too underestimated.

Now 2017 won’t always have it’s upsides. You have to be ready to tackle the downsides as well. No matter if you are going through a break up, loss, failure, grief or self-doubt, you will go out of these situations as a different person. A person that has grown mentally. In times when you are doubting yourself remember that you are exactly there where you should be. Life happens for you not to you. Every obstacle is life testing you if you really want this that you are after. But every obstacle that you pass will bring you closer to where you want to be. Life is not about what happens to you but how you react to it. Your reaction will determine the outcome of every situation. But don’t see a certain situation as a failure when it didn’t work out as you wish it did. Because there is no such thing as failure. It’s just life telling you to follow a different path. Just because it worked for someone doesn’t mean it will work for you. Don’t compare other people’s journey to your own. Each journey is unique. Follow your own path at your own speed and you will get what is made for you.

Be a person that lives in the present. That’s where your focus should be. Don’t look back into your past because you are not going there. It made you to the person you are right now and lead to the moment you are in right now but there is no need to spend all your energy on it because you can’t change it anyway. Live in the here and now. What you will be is decided by what you do now. Only those who live in the present can decide their future.

Don’t worry if you haven’t found your passion yet. Maybe 2017 will be the year you will find it but maybe you will never find your passion. That’s right maybe you will never find your passion. But that is because you don’t have one. Yes I am really telling you that you might not have a passion. For some people having a passion just doesn’t work. That is decided by nature. For those who don’t have a passion don’t worry you are not doomed. You are just living a life that is driven by curiosity. For you having a passion just doesn’t work because there isn’t that one thing that ignites fireworks in your soul. You will go from one station of your life to another and another. You will try this thing and that thing. You have to try a lot of things and that is not weird at all. If you are such a person you just keep doing that because that is the path you should follow and when you do that someday you will realize that you are exactly where you are meant to be. If you can let go of this thought that everybody should follow their passion and just go with your curiosity, your curiosity will eventually lead you to your passion.

Always remember that everything happens for a reason and you are exactly there where you are meant to be at this moment.

Top 7 Inspirational Books 2016

Since the year 2016 is coming to an end, I wanted to share my seven favorite inspirational books that I have read throughout 2016. These books played a huge part in what this year has been for me and shaped me to the person I am today. If they changed my life, I promise that they can change yours too! Please note that these books were not published in 2016 but I have read them throughout 2016.

7. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe – Benjamin Alire Sáenz

This book feels like real life with small but important events happening. This book is about loving yourself and everything around you. It is about the teenage condition and mentality.  It is about the most important things in life and life itself. It is packed with tons of emotions and you will fall in love with it while reading more and more of it. Essentially, it will appeal to everyone who has ever felt different, who has ever felt like they were not sure of who they were. You will discover the secrets of the Universe.

“I got to thinking that poems were like people. Some people you got right off the bat. Some people you just didn’t get–and never would get.”
― Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

6. The Big Five for Life – John Strelecky

Probably best for CEO´s or people that have a say and/or can change something in their company and for people who want to start a company. However everyone else will learn a lot of lessons too. This book makes you question your life decisions a lot. But makes you also realize that time is very precious and that it can never be regained. Live your life like it would be on display in a museum. What I learned from this book is that in the end everything is as it is and not as you wished it has been.

“Choose to work on things you are passionate about and you will always be passionate about what you are working on.” – John Strelecky, The Big Five for Life

5. The Humans – Matt Haig

“The Humans” is a fun to read novel about alien abduction, mathematics, and that most interesting subject of all: ourselves. This book not only helps you to understand yourself better but to understand us, humans, better. After reading this you will probably see yourself and everyone around you through different eyes. This book is a great start to change the way you interact with others.

“You can’t find happiness looking for the meaning of life. Meaning is only the third most important thing. It comes after loving and being.” – Matt Haig, The Humans

4. The Why Café – John Strelecky

This book kicked off the second half of 2016 just perfect for me. After doubting and questioning myself and my decisions a lot, I found this book at the perfect moment. It really helped me to reconsider and reevalute my life and the choices I had made. Without this book you probably would  not be reading this right now.

“The challenge,…is to realize that something is fulfilling because we individually determine it is fulfilling, not becasue someone else tells us it is.” – John Strelecky, The Why Café

3. Return to The Why Café – John Strelecky

This is the sequel to “The Why Café”. Maybe it was the different setting. Maybe it were the different characters. Maybe it was just me. I liked this one better than the prequel. Filled with even more life lessons and advice this one is perfect for you if you need more after reading “The Why Café”. If you need strength from the outside to follow your own path this series is a great choice for you.

“Why are you here?” – John Strelecky, Return to The Why Café

2. Reasons to Stay Alive – Matt Haig

This book is for everyone who has dealt with suicidal thoughts, knows someone with sucidial thoughts, or just needs a reminder that life is worth living. The more pages you read the more you start loving life. It is filled with wisdom and inspiration. This is more than a self-help book or a book that teaches you how to get rid of depression. This book makes you live depression. It is one of the best non-fiction books I have ever read.

“I am you and you are me. We are alone, but not alone. We are trapped by time, but also infinite. Made of flesh, but also stars.”

― Matt Haig, Reasons to Stay Alive

1. The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho

So here is my number one and absolute favorite book of probably all time. This book is filled with quotes and wisdom. It has a really special place in my heart because it shifted my life to the next level. It is perfect for those who need motivation or approval to follow their dreams.

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

The GPS Of The Universe

We make decisions in our lives. We try different things. We follow different paths. Sometimes we get the feeling that we have gotten so far off our original path that there is no way we could ever get back on it. But take a moment to think about a GPS. No matter how far away you are from your original destination, it will always find a way to get you to your destination.

The Universe works the same way. Even when we think that we are hopelessly lost and will never get back on the right path, there will always be a route that leads you back on your desired path. But to get there you have to let the Universe know where you want to go. When you secretly look for a better life, more happiness, or more freedom but spend most of your time doing things you actually dislike nothing will change. The Universe can only react to the things it observes. If you keep doing things you actually dislike the Universe will think that you love it because you are investing so much time in it. So instead of helping you, it will only give you more of what you dislike. Based on your behavior, your thoughts, and intentions the Universe  will offer you exactly what you put your time into.

Thus you are in control of this GPS. It reacts on your behavior. You are not only the actor but the director of your own life. Depending on how strong the signals you give are the sooner you will get back on your desired path. If a person wants to escape the 9-5 but always goes back to a 9-5 job, the signal is that you want 9-5. As soon as you invest your time in things that you really like doing you will get more of it. It is not your words but your actions that will get you the desired results.

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” – Paulo Coelho

Know Yourself

Not knowing who you are is devastating. But most people don’t know who they are why is that? Because we try to be like someone else, to act like someone else and be someone else. Stop trying to be somebody else. Be secure with yourself. Rely and trust on your own decisions. Know what path you want to pursuit. Listen to yourself and understand what’s right for you. You won’t find happiness until you are self-aware.

Being self-aware means being fully aware about all your flaws, weaknesses, and strengths. You may struggle to think about what you are bad at but Self-Awareness requires understanding your strengths and weaknesses and then choosing which of these paths you want to put your time and energy in. Personally I favor to just focus on my strenghts and forget my weaknesses but Self-Awareness isn’t only about going all in on your strenghts, it’s accepting all your shortcomings. Being at peace with yourself and your skills is such a important part of knowing yourself.

All your shortcomings are there for a reason. They are there to allow you to be great. You are so much better at so many things than that person you want to be. The second you accept the person you are deep in your heart, is the moment your life finds balance and starts working for you not against you.

Be yourself and know that that’s good enough.7598-o
